Anti Ragging Cell

The purpose of the Anti-Ragging Cell of the JJEDC is to ensure compliance with the provisions of regulations as well as the provisions of any law for the time being in force concerning ragging. The cell ensures through set policies, procedures and practices curbing of ragging menace inside the college premises. Anti-Ragging Cell provides instructions and taking disciplinary actions to achieve the objective of eliminating ragging within the Institution. This document provides the details of policy framework for formulating guidelines, which will enhance the scope for ensuring discipline and maintaining ragging free campus.

Objectives

  • To prevent, prohibit, and redress any and all forms and instance of ragging in the college and to educate the students on the meaning of ragging and what constitutes it.
  • To prevent the occurrence of ragging by following regulations and punishing those who indulge in ragging as provided for in these regulations and the appropriate law in force as per the UGC guidelines.
  • To keep a constant watch and vigil over ragging so as to avoid its incidence and repetition.
  • To aware the students of dehumanizing effect of raging inherent in its perversity.
  • To generate an atmosphere of discipline by sending a clear message that no act of ragging shall be tolerated and any act of ragging shall not be ignored and unpunished.

Mechanism

  • Anti-Ragging Committee provides instructions and taking disciplinary actions to achieve the objective of eliminating ragging within or outside the Institution. Ragging is any disorderly conduct whether by words spoken or written or by an act which has the effect of teasing, treating or handling with rudeness to any student, indulging in rowdy or undisciplined activities which cause or likely to cause annoyance will be punished immediately.
  • Anti-ragging committee thrives to redress the ragging cases and complaints received from the students and staff.
  • The complaint forms are made available with the Convener of the Cell. Aggrieved parties have to fill the complaint form and submit the same along with necessary supporting documents (If any), for further course of action and Redressal.

Anti Sexual Harassment Cell

Sexual harassment is perceived to violate an individual’s dignity. It has ruined countless innocent lives and careers. The responsibility of universities and colleges as modern educational institutions is not only to treat women students and all youth regardless of gender as citizens who have a right to safety but to assist them physically, emotionally and intellectually to claim that right and seek to expand its contours.

The following is also sexual harassment and is covered by the committee

  • Unsavory remarks
  • Jokes causing or likely to cause awkwardness or embarrassment
  • Innuendos and taunts
  • Gender based insults or sexist remarks
  • Unwelcome sexual overtone in any manner such as over telephone and the like.
  • Touching or brushing against any part of the body and the like.
  • Displaying pornographic or other offensive or derogatory pictures, cartoons, pamphlets or sayings.
  • Forcible physical touch or molestation
  • Physical confinement against one’s will and any other act likely to violate one’s privacy

Anti Sexual Harassment Cell assures all the complaints of the students, teaching and non – teaching staffs are treated with dignity and respect and the complaints will be maintained confidential.

Committee Responsibilities: Various activities are conducted to students in order to bring awareness about the concept by organizing seminars, questionnaires and self defense programmes in college.

Women Empowerment Cell

In view to taking up women's issues and problems, as per UGC guidelines and social responsibility one individual, the cell aims to empower girl students and women faculty, enhance their understanding of issues related to women and to make the college campus a safe place. To address the practical issues related to the welfare and equal opportunities for same. It also provides a platform for women to share their experiences and views regarding their status in the society. Added to it suggestions for improvement and empowerment among themselves has been given. Aiming at intellectual and social upliftment of the female students, the cell stands for facilitating women’s empowerment through guest lectures, seminars, awareness programs and other welfare activities.

Equal oppurtunity Cell

The Equal Opportunity Cell of the college is committed to creating an inclusive and equitable environment for all students and staff. It works to ensure that individuals from diverse backgrounds—regardless of gender, caste, religion, economic status, or physical ability—are treated with fairness, dignity, and respect.

The cell organizes awareness programs, workshops, and support initiatives aimed at promoting diversity, eliminating discrimination, and fostering equal access to academic and co-curricular opportunities. It also provides guidance and assistance to students from underrepresented groups, enabling their full participation in college life.

The Health Awareness Cell aims to promote physical, mental, and emotional well-being among students and staff. It organizes regular health check-ups, awareness drives, workshops, and guest lectures on topics such as nutrition, hygiene, stress management, and lifestyle diseases.

The cell also collaborates with healthcare professionals to educate students on preventive healthcare practices, ensuring a healthier and more informed campus community. It encourages proactive habits that support overall well-being and academic success.
